Viva Centre Redevelopment
Fundraising, grant and trust applications, refurbishment project management and client communication representative for charity-run community facility.
Located in Soham, Cambridgeshire, the Viva Centre was unable to achieve its full revenue potential due to constraints imposed by its internal layout. Tricolor undertook market research in the community with existing and potential users and with staff and volunteers to establish just what was expected of the building in terms of usage and accessibility.
After extensive consultation, Tricolor drew up an outline redevelopment scheme, instructed architects and developed concept drawings. We then undertook the fundraising to make the project happen. The Tricolor team raised over £260,000 in less than ten months for Viva.
Stage One of the building’s redevelopment began in September 2010. The redeveloped building will include a lift that will make the building 100% accessible. Space has been optimised and includes a charity retail area and a community cafe, for which Tricolor drew up detailed business plans. The ‘new’ building, now centrally heating throughout, will also include a refurbished community room that will also be used for revenue-earning theatrical performances, private hire and education sessions.
